Katie McKay Associate

Katie McKay

Katie joined C.A. Goldberg, PLLC as an associate in 2024. She has worked with and advocated for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and workplace discrimination. Her practice features Title IX cases against universities and K-12 schools, a longtime passion area that first motivated her to become an attorney.

Katie earned her bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Dartmouth College, then worked as a paralegal for two years in New York prior to law school. She attended Harvard Law School for her J.D., where she interned at the Domestic Violence Legal Empowerment & Appeals Project (DV LEAP) in Washington, D.C., and GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) in Boston, MA. She was also an editor on the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review.

Prior to joining the firm, Katie worked as an associate in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution group at Clifford Chance US LLP in New York, where she worked on government investigations and white collar defense. She also worked on various pro bono projects to support survivors of violence applying for U-Visas to remain in the United States, transgender people working to change their name and/or sex on their identification documents, and an abortion nonprofit seeking to map the legal landscape in a post-Dobbs world.

After Clifford Chance, Katie served as counsel at Patricia M. Pastor, PLLC, a small independent law firm working to support survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and gender and sex-based discrimination throughout New York State. There, she worked on a variety of cases, including cases brought under the Adult Survivor’s Act, the New York State Human Rights Law, and the New York City Human Rights Law.

In her spare time, Katie is pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction at New York University, where she is a Goldwater Community Service Fellow.

Katie is admitted to practice law in New York, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
